Designing for a start-up business
By working closely with the client we developed a theme that played on the fifth taste ‘umami’. The sauce ‘smear’ or ‘drizzle’ is a common technique by chefs who use the plate as a canvas. We therefore created a bespoke ‘drizzle’ as the main graphic, using this as a key ingredient to the visual language. By putting a smile into the typography, we played with the ‘e’, then flipped it on the ‘a’.
Iconic and defined, the design language is a bold statement of intent.
